Choose PNTR when
- You do not want to reconfirm a hostname on someone else's schedule to keep it alive.
- Your target is a fixed address rather than a residential connection.

Questions
- Does a PNTR subdomain expire?
- Not while the account is active. There is no periodic confirmation step. Captured requests and stored email are purged on a retention schedule, but the hostname itself stays.
- Can PNTR replace No-IP for a homelab?
- Only if your public IP is stable. Without dynamic updates, a residential connection will drift and the record will silently go stale.
- Can I use my own domain with PNTR?
- No. PNTR issues subdomains under pntr.dev only. If you need records on a domain you own, No-IP's managed DNS plans cover that and PNTR does not.
